Tutoring experience

Head of English, Media, and Drama for many years, I have a wide range of experience of teaching across all exam boards. Having examined for GCSE English Literature and then Language for 16 years, I'm a team leader/senior examiner for a leading examination board and I am graded outstanding. In addition to this I am also a visiting moderator for the speaking and listening component of the new GCSE in English as well as being verified as an in-house controlled test and speaking and listening component examiner for IGCSE.
I am comfortable teaching across a range of abilities and tutor English online for A level, GCSE and KS3. After an initial free session, where we can discuss your needs in detail, I would then create a bespoke programme of study to enable the best possible outcome. I also provide complete programmes of study for home schooled and overseas students.

About yourself

I am passionate about English and the subject’s power to transform lives. In a world where we are bombarded by literacy it is essential our children have the skills to manipulate language and make it work for them. Whether studying towards an exam or just wanting extra help to aid learning, I pride myself on being able to assess quickly the barriers to learning that pupils are facing and plan logically to help them overcome them. As a parent myself, I always ask the question - would this be good enough for my own child?

Recent Parent Feedback:

We cannot speak more highly of Beverley and definitely recommend her! We asked for Beverley’s help for our son who struggled and disliked English and who was predicted low grades after his GCSE mocks. Working with Beverley turned this around. He attained grade 7 for both English Literature and English language in his recent GCSE results! Beverley knows her stuff! She is passionate about her subject, knows the syllabus inside out and every exam technique there is! She is patient and gave our son encouragement and support which led to a new found confidence and genuine enthusiasm for English literature. Thank you Beverley - we can’t thank you enough!

"I wanted to leave a review for Beverley as she was an excellent tutor to my son. He has severe learning difficulties and she got him through his English literature and English language with a level 5 in both. She took each lesson at his speed and gave him confidence to go for it – Thanks Beverley."

"I would like thank Mrs Beverley Molyneux for her support she has offered my daughter in helping her achieve A* in her English GCSE's this year. My daughter had her first lesson with Beverley on the first week of April 2017 and within a few weeks her expected grades moved from 5 to 7. When she received her results even her teachers were surprised that she had achieved A* in English language and A in English literature. Once again a huge thank you to Beverley for her time and patience."

"Our son had received a D in GCSE English Language. We contacted Beverly due to her outstanding profile as well as parent feedback. We were not disappointed. Our son has achieved an A* in one of his exams and an 'A' overall this August, 2017. She knew the syllabus inside out and zoned in to how to work 1:1 with our son. She did as she promised; lessons were regular and clearly of a high quality. She gave our son confidence and belief and taught him the necessary techniques to enable him to significantly increase his marks in the exam papers. We cannot recommend Beverly highly enough."

"Mrs Molyneux has greatly helped my daughter to achieve Grade 9 in English Language and Literature in the new specification. Prior to her tuitions, my daughter felt demoralised about her English exams because she wasn't receiving enough help from her school. Once she started sessions with Mrs Molyneux, she became more and more confident about her exams because she believed that she was getting constructive feedback on improving her work. Mrs Molyneux is not only a great English teacher but also very approachable which allows her to understand the specific needs of her individual students. I would highly recommend her!"

"Mrs Molyneux has been an excellent tutor for my son. He was worried about his English Language GCSE and wanted help at Easter only two months before the exam. Having used EvoTuition before I hoped I could find someone to help him. Beverley not only helped him work through his specific areas of concern, but has also been greatly encouraging and given him confidence he did not previously have. He was still nervous going into the exam but he had belief. We now wait for the results but I do want to say a big thanks to Beverley given her positive and competent style. Thankful dad."

"Two months prior to her GCSE my daughter was really lacking in confidence in her English literature preparation. Bev was amazing. She is a fantastic teacher, knows the syllabus in side out, made the lessons really enjoyable and is really nice to work with on a one to one basis. My daughter was so proud when she got an unexpected A* in her GCSE. Bev really did make the difference to helping her achieve this result. Thankyou Bev."

"We asked Beverly for help when our son got a D in his GCSE English mock. English has never been one of his strongest subjects but he needed to get a C in order to carry on into sixth form. He started working with Beverley 10 weeks before his GCSE and she was fantastic. Our son actually started to enjoy his sessions, he gained a lot of confidence and felt very prepared going into his exam. He went from a D in his mock to a grade B in his GCSE which in 10 weeks I think is an amazing result. I cannot recommend Beverley highly enough."
