All my previous students have made significant progress, often improving by 1-2 grades, and many have therefore chosen to continue to study geography at A-level or university.

Tuition offered: English Language (GCSE, iGCSE, AS, A-Level), English Literature (GCSE, iGCSE), English Language and Literature combined (AS, A-Level), English as a Second Language (iGCSE), English Conversation (non-examined or iGCSE), Sociolinguistics (Degree & A-level), Stylistics (Degree & A-level)
I specialise in English Language and Literature GCSE, iGCSE and AS / A-Level. All my 2019 exam students achieved grades one to three levels higher than predicted. 4 recent A-Level tutees gained Bs and Cs, having been predicted E or D. Three achieved A* for their NEA, or Coursework. (There are, of course, strict limits to the support that a student may receive for this element.) I taught English and related areas at post-16 colleges and university for 20 years, and have tutored for many years, in the UK, Germany, USA and online. I am convinced that online tutoring is just as valuable and effective as in-person, if not more so. I’ve worked recently with students in or from UK, Japan, New Zealand, UAE, Palestine and Portugal, some of them using English as an additional language. Whatever your predicted grade, I can help you improve; your lessons will be geared to your particular needs - and always focused on "what the examiner wants". Although online, my lessons are interactive: to learn you need to think and engage, not just watch & listen - and for success in English you need opinions and the evidence to support them. I don’t always agree with students’ interpretations, but no opinion is wrong if it can be justified - and it’s great when a student opens my eyes to a reading I hadn’t thought of. My PhD is directly relevant to the linguistic elements of the new English Language A-Levels, some of which are unfamiliar to teachers who are literature specialists. I keep up with the latest syllabuses, attend Examination Board training events, use and create high calibre educational materials, and belong to professional organisations such as UK Literacy Association (UKLA), National Association for Teachers of English (NATE).

I have been working as a maths tutor since 2011. During this period, I have successfully assisted students studying for their GCSE all the way up to university modules and exams. This has taken place both privately and while holding external tutoring roles in various London schools. I have worked with students from all over the world, those studying for UK specifications as well as undergraduates in english speaking universities or wishing to attend UK universities. For instance, I've had students, among others, from Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, China, USA. At A-level I teach C1-C4, FP1-FP4, S1-S2 and M1-M2. At university level I teach analysis, calculus, linear algebra, analytic and differential geometry, probability, and 1st year statistics. My expertise lies mostly within pure maths, so my main focus is to lay the clear foundations of maths with my students for an extensive and in-depth understanding that can be transferred in any field they choose to study in the future. In 2017 I expanded my lessons to the online realm and have since taught pupils from all over the UK. I have now shifted my focus to online tuition and I am trying to provide the most suitable environment, not only digital with the necessary learning tools and aids, but also in terms of learning styles for each individual student. Selected testimonies: Akash 10/01/2018 "Panos is very punctual and has an excellent style of teaching by going through content and various questions related to the content. He also goes the extra mile and sends clear and concise notes based on the content which is extremely helpful in helping you grip the content in the long term. Panos has helped me gain as high as 94% on assessments based on topics which i was failing before i had my lessons with him." Peiwen 13/04/2018 "I like Panos` way of teaching as he guided me to get closer to the answer with great patience instead of giving me the answer. He also knows where I get stuck and he gives clear explanation to clear the confusion I have! Thank you!" Kiara 28/02/2018 "Very happy with Panos as a tutor, definitely one of the best decisions I have made. He makes things nice and easy to understand and this is by far the most comfortable online learning experience I`ve had. Helped me get an A* predicted for my undergraduate foundation programme!" Anna 05/12/2017 "I am studying and require maths as part of my bachelors’ degree. My tutor is quick in giving me what is needed. I want to thank him, because he goes above and beyond with his help. Our sessions are online and are very effective."

I have 10 years of Maths tutoring experience with AQA, OCR, Edexcel and CIE exam boards. I have taught at school and university level and I also have industry experience. My approach is to break down topics in a methodical manner, ensuring each is thoroughly mastered from basics to advanced, and adapt to the students' learning style. I am also an examiner (over 10 years experience), moderator and team leader and can thus improve students' exam techniques and presentation of answers and help maximise marks in exams. I have a wealth of resources available that are proven to maximise students' potential. All of my previous students have moved levels and received excellent results (with loads of 9s achieved). Maths is my passion and I enjoy maximising students' potential and make them more confident in Maths.
