Tuition offered: Chemistry (A-level & GCSE & KS3), Physics (GCSE & KS3), Biology (GCSE & KS3), Science Combined (GCSE), KS3 Science
I have 25 years of experience teaching chemistry and science at an outstanding school, where I was head of chemistry for 10 years. I am now a full-time online tutor, teaching chemistry at A-level, which I specialise in, and chemistry, physics and biology at GCSE. I can also offer assistance in the chemical and physical aspects of A level biology. I find one of my most effective strategies is to answer banks of exam questions with the student, and reflect on the mark schemes . A recent student wrote: "Hi Simon, I got a 9 and an average of 91% in Chemistry. Thank you so much for all of your help." Another parent wrote: "Just to let you know that Georgina got a 9 in all three sciences at GCSE. Thank you for your help with her lessons." As a full-time tutor, I am available for daytime slots as well as evenings.

I have more than 12 years’ experience as a teacher of classics. My background includes teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students with and without learning disabilities, mostly between 12 and 18 years old. I currently work as a teacher of classics in the Carmenta Online Latin School of America, an accredited School by the Western Association of Schools for secondary and university students. I also have experience teaching Greek to ex-patriots and for citizenship exams and Greek language certificates. Regarding my teaching approach, I am constantly looking for innovative and inspiring ways to teach. My aim is to develop reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills equally, combining traditional and communicative approaches to teaching. I particularly enjoy creating a joyful and creative atmosphere in the classroom, applying principals of game-based learning and using modern software. The latest addition in my teaching approach is the Latin conversation!
