Why use a Graphics Tablet?

Easier & More Effective

A graphics tablet makes online tutoring much easier and more effective. Simply use the pen to write naturally on the tablet and it will appear on the EvoTuition whiteboard. Spend less time preparing lesson materials and respond instantly to students’ impromptu questions. Easily draw diagrams, graphs and equations on the whiteboard or annotate your uploaded files.

Ideal for Equations

We highly recommend a graphics tablet for tutors who teach subjects involving equations (e.g. Maths, Chemistry, Physics etc). Your students don’t need a tablet - you can write onto the whiteboard and they can copy it down onto paper. When you need to check their work, just ask them to hold it up to the camera. This way students have all their notes and workings on paper to keep after the lesson ends.

Recommended Tablet

The graphics tablet we recommend is the Wacom Intuos. This tablet is used very successfully by a large number of EvoTuition tutors during their online lessons.

Setup

Your wacom tablet will work as soon as you plug it in, but we highly recommend changing a few settings to make your writing look much smoother (see the setup section below).

Setup Your Tablet

Your Wacom tablet will work as soon as you plug it in, but we highly recommend changing a few settings to make your writing look much smoother. Select your operating system from the drop down menu on the right and follow the steps to improve the performance of your wacom tablet.

Using Your Tablet

Once you have completed the setup steps, enter your tuition room, select the pen tool and try writing (you can rest your hand anywhere on the pad). Hover the pen above the pad to move the mouse, then touch the pen onto the pad to write.
It will take a little bit of practice to get used to looking at the screen while writing on the pad. Your writing quality will improve very quickly with practice. If you require any help or have any questions, contact Customer Services.
